“If this were just baseball, I don’t think it would work, but there’s more to it than that…much more. This plan would serve as a clear catalyst for growth within amateur sports tourism and put Fort Wayne on the map as a youth sports center in the Midwest since there are very few community baseball fields with artificial turf. It will be great for our economy, for our kids and for community redevelopment.

“If you want to do business with good people, you’ll do business with the WBA.”

History of Tournaments

In 1993, the very first Hoosier Classic Baseball Tournament was developed in Fort Wayne, Indiana. These tournaments originally began as small events to help local teams face quality competition and secure funds to travel to different communities and compete.

Over time, these events have grown into some of the most well-respected tournament venues in the Midwest. The High School Age Tournaments have served as very successful focal points for college coaches/scouts to be exposed to potential recruits, and have continued to gain in popularity.

Over the past 15 years, these events have attracted teams from Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin, Kansas, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia, and Canada!

Our younger age brackets gained immediate success in 2004 when the Hoosier Classic Summer Baseball Tournaments expanded into the 11 to 14-year-old age bracket!
